With the combination of high electricity costs and power outages, it goes without saying that cold fronts will be more brutal than ever. Not too worry, we’ve compiled a list of cheap ways to keep warm, even during load shedding.
1 Cold air can easily leak into your home through the smallest and most unexpected places. So INSULATE!
Keep keys inside keyholes
Block the gaps in window frames
Block the gaps beneath doors
Cover the floor with carpets/throws to insulate the tiled floors
2 After insulating your home, ‘insulate’ your body by:
Wearing base layers such as vests
Wear jerseys and jackets

Roll up those socks!
Slippers too
3 Heat Energy
Motion is a good way to keep your body warm
Do light exercises to keep your body warm (30 minutes or more should do)
After your exercise, keep your feet off the ground because it's the coldest nearest to the ground.
